On August 6th we celebrate Independence Day in Bolivia. And on the 27th of the same month, the “Day of the Senior Citizen”, i.e. everyone of 60 years or more in Bolivia.

Part of our Program “Acceso Público” (“open access”) in the Yungas Region of La Paz, we have dedicated a number of special activities with this highly vulnerable and valuable group: Senior Citizens are invited to share their knowledge and wisdom regarding the history of their communities, their traditions and festivals in radio and multimedia features which we publish in cooperation with our partner Radio FM Bolivia.

Once a week, birthdays of senior citizens in the county are publicly remembered.
