Empowerment through community workers

29.07.2026

With a new training program, our women’s project is expanding the support services it provides for women. The aim is to help a greater number of women exercise and defend their rights. Until now, all legal assistance was provided exclusively by the project’s lawyer. As each case involves numerous administrative procedures and court-related formalities, only a limited number of women could receive this support.

Over the coming months, women from the neighborhoods surrounding the project will be trained as community workers. They will acquire the knowledge needed to accompany other women during administrative procedures, provide guidance on the necessary legal steps, and assist them in preparing and adapting the required documents. A particular focus will be on supporting women in claiming child support payments.

The new program was introduced in cooperation with the neighbourhood councils in the project area, whose close connection with the local communities will help identify suitable participants for the training. At the same time, the call for applications was launched. This initiative will enable committed women to qualify for income-generating activities while supporting other women in exercising their rights.
