“Weekly Boarding in Indigenous Families” arrives in Tarija!
26.06.2015
With the inauguration of the “Weekly Boarding in Indigenous Families” program in the remote village of San Luis de Palqui on 9 June, the Fundación Pueblo could for the first time its 24-year history set foot in the southern department of Tarija in Bolivia. This pilot project will allow 20 children of the county Office Yunchará access to education. The local coordinator Nancy Erazo takes care of the students and coordinates the host mothers from an already well-equipped office. The official inauguration was held in the presence of Mayor Gladys Alarcón, Günther Schulz-Heiss the founder of the Village Foundation and the locals. The students performed traditional dances and poems, and offered the invited guests a delicious lunch, which was prepared by the host mothers and parents of scholarship recipients. Long live the “Weekly Boarding in Indigenous Families” program in Tarija!
