Inauguration of Yanacachi’s new public library
29.05.2015
Since mid-May the large room on the ground floor of the “Casa del Maestro’’ (the teacher’s house) has found a new use. This room that has been empty for some time has been transformed into the new public library of Yanacachi. On May 23, the library was officially inaugurated in the presence of village authorities. In addition to the numerous books there, the local people can also read newspapers which are updated weekly and the restored relief of the “Camino Takesi’’ provides a lot of information about the historical significance of the place. An exhibition of black and white photos adorn the walls and give insights into the historical past of the people of Yanacachi. With this initiative the Fundación Pueblo aims to facilitate access to public information for the local population.
