News from the start of school in Copacabana and Yanacachi
Friday February 24th, 2017
The student boarding school in Copacabana is again up and running after clases started the beginning of February. The great success of our program in the last year was recognized within the entire district, thus, almost doubling the demand of scholarships from 30 to 50. Fortunately, we could also find more interested women in being host mums which allowed us to increase our capacity correspondingly.
By means of our program for the access to civic information we provided some social-environmental atlases of the Low Land and the Yungas of Bolivia for three high schools in the district of our foundation, Yanacachi. The atlases have been developed by the foundation Friends of the Nature in development cooperation with Germany. With numerous pictures and maps they depict the current condition of the environment in this unique and biodiverse region. The atlases are dedicated to the pupils`s sensitization with regard to the environment.
