A workshop for village reporters in Yanacachi
Friday August 4th, 2017
Within the project for public access at our Yanacachi headquarters in the Yungas we offer a radio program. It serves to disseminate current information including remote communities that are usually difficult to attain.
In July, a workshop was held for village reporters with the theme of qualitative journalism and the search for truth. The trainer is the well-known and valued journalist Guadalupe Cajias who taught different theoretical and practical aspects of journalism to the participants, for example; the effect of perspectives, emotions and personal experiences that may result in different stories of the same fact.
To visualize what was recently learned, the participants had to describe the owner of the hotel, where the workshop took place. Reviewing the results reporters realized that it is not easy to inform in a neutral way without being guided by emotions and concluding, for example, about physical aspects to characteristic aspects.
The workshop was a great success and very popular with the participants. Immediately they requested repetition that we will try to realize when possible
