New school furniture for the scholarship holders in Copacabana
Thursday February 28th, 2019
New classrooms, with the ability to fill them with students. But, without enough tables and chairs so that everyone can sit down and learn comfortably? Children in Copacabana know this situation very well. With the support of the German embassy, we were able to equip José Ballivian School with furniture, just in time for the new school year. Two reinforcement course classrooms were equipped with 40 chairs, 20 tables, a desk, a shelf, a bookcase & a blackboard, one in elementary school and one in high school. We have been accompanying the community since the middle of 2016 with establishment and operations of the Student Family Lodging, so that the children from remote communities can finish their schooling. This year is the last year where we will actively support the community. Through the specialization for elementary students, it is possible that for the first time the mayor’s office will assume project expenses, a great success of our work!
